Teacher. Designer. Builder.

UX Designer · Front-End Developer

15 years of human behavior research, now in pixels. I design for the people the defaults forget — and I ship the code to prove it.

Genki Dojo
"As a language teacher and a language learner, I know how personal the study process is."
A free, open-source browser-based study app designed around the structure of the Genki I textbook. All five core skills — hiragana, katakana, vocabulary, grammar, and speaking practice — in one place, aligned lesson by lesson to the book. No sign-up, no download, no distractions. Built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Zero dependencies.
Problem Genki I learners had no single, free, offline-capable study tool — just scattered PDFs and paywalled apps.
Outcome All 12 lessons, zero cost, installable offline — a full course in one app used by learners internationally.

Classroom Kitchen
"A child's brain is the most metabolically active organ in the body. Food isn't optional. It's the foundation of every lesson."
A delivery-only restaurant concept designed to ensure no student goes hungry during the school day. Full UX/UI process: user research, personas, sitemap, wireframes, mood board, and high-fidelity mockups for desktop and mobile — plus a fully coded, live website. The visual identity is an ode to Louisiana roots: a Mardi Gras palette of deep purple, warm gold, and soft green.
Problem Students who couldn't focus, laid their heads down, checked out — not because they didn't care, but because they hadn't eaten.
Outcome End-to-end UX from research to deployed site — food ordering reduced to a 3-step flow with full Behance case study.

Matrescence
"Every pregnancy app tracks the baby. Matrescence tracks the mother."
For mothers navigating the aftermath of traumatic pregnancy and postpartum — for the moment the shock wears off and nobody around her has noticed yet.
Problem Every pregnancy app tracks the baby. No app addresses the psychological aftermath of traumatic pregnancy for the mother.
Outcome Full UX concept — user research, information architecture, Figma prototype, and published case study on Behance.

How I work

01

Discover

Research, stakeholder conversations, competitive review. I map the problem space before touching a wireframe.

02

Define

Personas, user journeys, problem statements. I narrow scope to what actually matters to real people.

03

Design

Figma for wireframes and high-fidelity. Hand-coded prototypes when static screens aren't enough.

04

Deliver

Shipped code, not just specs. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React — whatever the project needs to actually exist.

“Your work moved us forward. Your version actually pushed Susan and me to think harder about what our Theory of Change is trying to say.”

“My board loved the report. It’s a beautiful design. You really nailed it.”

I have been teaching English as a Second Language for over fifteen years. Language learning sits at the intersection of empathy, patience, and design. You are constantly finding new ways to make something click for someone who sees the world differently than you do. That experience shaped everything that came after.

My path into design and development started at the University of Arizona, where I worked in the campus multimedia labs. I needed to learn these skills to build things for the work I was doing and to support students with their own projects. What started as necessity became something I could not stop. I kept building.

Over the years I have worked across education, UX, and front-end development, often all three at once. The projects here reflect that range: a Japanese study app built because the right tool did not exist, a school meal service born from watching hungry kids try to learn, a maternal health concept for the women nobody designs for. Every idea came from something real.

In 2026 I completed both the CalArts UI/UX Design Specialization and the CalArts Graphic Design Specialization, alongside the MoMA Modern & Contemporary Art and Design program and Google Project Management certification. I build in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Figma. I work independently, move fast, and care deeply about the people on the other side of whatever I make.

Currently exploring: design systems, accessibility auditing, and motion design for interfaces.
